After barely escaping the AetherPlane with her life, Ruby Black is still haunted by the final words of the ancient being to whom she spoke.

Since that dark day, Elementals have been vanishing, only to show up dead shortly after, killed in the most awful ways imaginable. The bodies have started appearing across the country, and it seems those ominous words might have been prophetic after all. Someone, or something, is systematically wiping out the Elemental race, and if Ruby doesn’t act fast, she may soon be a queen of ash and bones.

But catching a killer who is always one step ahead is no easy task; a trap must be laid, but care must be taken or Ruby may find herself walking into an elaborately woven trap herself.

Old enemies arise, and unlikely allies reveal themselves – darkness is coming, and it will claim all who are unprepared.
